A former drummer for the alternative rock band Cake was sentenced Tuesday to 15 years to life in state prison for committing a sex act on a 3-year-old girl.
Peter Ivan McNeal, 48, was also ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
McNeal was convicted in March 2013 of one count of oral copulation of a child 10 or younger. The first jury to hear the case against him deadlocked 11- 1 in favor of guilt.
The crime occurred on Thanksgiving Day 2009 at a Laurel Canyon home where he was a guest, according to Deputy District Attorney Elena Abramson.
