Sheriff’s detectives on Tuesday released a composite drawing of a suspect in the kidnapping and sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl who was abducted from a Bassett street, along with a description of the suspects’ car.
Two suspects described as Latino men between 20 and 27 years old were in a car that stopped in the 600 block of Van Wig Avenue, where the girl was walking about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, said Deputy Amber Smith of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
One suspect blindfolded the girl, who was forced into the car. Another man stayed in the driver’s seat.
“The victim told detectives she was sexually assaulted, then released,” Smith said, adding that the suspects drove south on Van Wig Avenue and out of sight after letting the girl go free.
She was dropped off in the same area where she was abducted after being warned not to report what happened.
The suspects who got out of the vehicle are between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall. The Honda is possibly a late 1990s model and the first three letters of its license plate are possibly “2WE.”
