Two Carson-area women were facing possible charges Tuesday for impersonating police officers in a robbery and an attempted holdup, deputies said today.
The women, whose names were withheld, allegedly robbed a man on a bicycle in the 18000 block of Susana Road in Rancho Dominguez about 12:45 a.m. Friday and, minutes later, tried to rob a pedestrian, sheriff’s Detective Gus Ramirez of the Carson station said.
Both were dressed in uniforms, and one of them appeared to have a gun, he said.
The man robbed Friday was left handcuffed, Ramirez said.
Detectives picked up the women today based on arrest warrant and seized a replica handgun, two uniform jackets with police-type patches, handcuffs, zip- ties, a flashlight and gloves, among other items.
A white 1999 Lexus RX300 SUV was used in the alleged crimes.
