[symple_googlemap title=”Doughnut Shop Stabbing Death” location=”Florence Avenue and Broadway, Los Angeles, CA” height=”300″ zoom=”17″]A clerk at a South Los Angeles doughnut shop was fatally stabbed by a man who robbed the business, authorities said Wednesday.
The crime occurred about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday at Florence Avenue and Broadway, said Los Angeles police Officer Liliana Preciado of the Media Relations office.
The wounded man, who was in his late 20s, died at a hospital, Preciado said. His name was withheld, pending family notification.
According to the preliminary investigation, a man in his 30s entered and robbed the business, then fled, Preciado said.
The clerk apparently followed the suspect out of the doughnut shop, and a struggle ensued, according to reports from the scene. During the struggle, which occurred in an alley, the clerk was stabbed “multiple times,” Preciado said.
