A bronze statue worth more than $18,000 that was in front of the Norwalk Civic Center has gone missing, according to a report published Tuesday
“Looking to the Future” was stolen Monday from the corner of Imperial Highway and Norwalk Boulevard, the Press-Telegram reported.
The statue depicted a young girl waving greetings and was dedicated in 2000 as part of a large public works installation that included a cascading water.
The theft of the statue is being investigated by the sheriff’s department.
Anyone with information on the statue’s disappearance was asked to call the sheriff’s Norwalk Station at (562) 863-8711.
