One person was killed Sunday in a single-vehicle crash on a freeway transition road and six other were injured in another crash in downtown Los Angeles, authorities say.

The crash was reported just before 7 p.m. on the transition road from the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway to the northbound Hollywood (101) Freeway, California Highway Patrol Officer Peter Bishop said.

One person, the sole occupant of the vehicle involved, was pronounced dead at the scene, Bishop said.

The transition road was closed and a SigAlert issued following the crash, Bishop said.

One of two of the connector road’s lanes was reopened about 9:20 p.m. and the SigAlert was cancelled, according to the CHP.

An other crash in downtown Los Angeles injured six people, two of them critically.

It happened at 9:08 p.m. in the 1400 block of Sixth Street, Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

At least one person was trapped in the wreckage and all six of the injured were taken to hospitals, he said.

The Sixth Street bridge was temporarily closed and two vehicles sustained significant damage, Scott said.
