Three days after police fatally shot a man on Skid Row, another man was arrested in the same area Wednesday after allegedly scuffling with a Fox11 cameraman and trying to grab the weapon of one of the officers who responded to the scene.
Police were called around noon to the area of Sixth and San Pedro streets, were the man got into a scuffle with the television photographer, according to Los Angeles police Officer Jane Kim.
A group of officers struggled with the suspect, who tried to grab the holstered weapon carried by one of the officers. Kim said three officers suffered minor injuries in the scrape and the suspect, whose name was not released, was arrested.
On Sunday, a group of officers got into an altercation on Skid Row that ended with the fatal shooting of a homeless man. Police said the man struggling with police tried to grab an officer’s holstered weapon during the altercation, leading to the shooting.
