A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash near downtown Los Angeles that involved a tourist from England.

The crash was at Alameda and Seventh streets at about 11:55 p.m. Friday, said a Los Angeles Police at the Central Traffic Division.

Philip Siron, 29, was driving a 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Alameda, A 2015 Volkswagen sedan driven by George Thomas, 20, of England was going south, and he tried to make a left turn onto eastbound Seventh. The car’s passenger side and Siron’s bike collided. The rider was launched into the air and then into the roadway.

Paramedics rushed Siron to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, the police officer said.

Thomas stayed at the crash and was not immediately cited or arrested.
