A security guard at a Covina nightspot was in custody Saturday for selling cocaine to undercover detectives, authorities said.
Christopher Rodriguez, 22, of Baldwin Park, was arrested Friday at the Red Covina Restaurant and Lounge, on the 200 block of North Citrus Avenue, Covina Police Sgt. Gregg Peterson said.
Rodriguez, an employee of Executive Sentry Services of Whittier, allegedly sold an undisclosed amount of cocaine to undercover agents from the California Department of Alcohol and Beverage Control (ABC) on three separate occasions while working as a security guard at the venue, Peterson said.
ABC may also take action against the nightspot, while the City of Covina was reviewing the permits of operation it granted Red in December, as well to Executive Sentry Services, he said.
