A man was found stabbed to death Wednesday in a parking lot in the heart of Hollywood and the suspect might have stolen his truck, police said.
The body of the man, in his late 20s, was discovered about 8:40 a.m. in the 1700 block of North Cherokee Avenue. Police were seeking a man and two other people who may have fled in a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck with North Carolina license number CLJ5472.
LAPD Lt. John Jenal said witnesses heard an argument between the victim and suspect before the stabbing. He said there is a possibility that the truck may have belonged the victim, and said detectives have not yet determined if he knew his assailant.
Jenal said detectives know the victim’s name, but have not yet contacted his family.
Jenal said the area where the crime occurred is three blocks from Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue, a major tourist destination, and is normally pretty safe.
