A man who broke into a woman’s apartment in Rowland Heights and raped her was handed a nearly 42-year state prison sentence, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.
Pablo Reyes Bautista, 27, of Rowland Heights, was also ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life following his no contest plea Tuesday to one count each of forcible rape, sexual penetration by a foreign object, first-degree burglary with a person present, mayhem, assault with intent to commit a felony and false imprisonment.
Bautista also admitted allegations that he committed a kidnapping and great bodily injury during the commission of a sex offense.
The charges stemmed from an attack in the early morning hours of Oct. 27, 2012, on a woman who had been sleeping. Bautista was arrested in January 2014 after a DNA hit.
