One of three young men accused of attacking an 87-year-old man near the Rose Bowl in Pasadena pleaded not guilty Tuesday to felony charges.
Gabriel Anthony Mixco and co-defendants Juan Antonio Medina Martinez and Dominick Tobiah Guzman — who each pleaded not guilty earlier this month — are charged with one felony count each of second-degree robbery and elder abuse. Mixco is also charged with a misdemeanor count of theft.
The three 19-year-old men are accused of attacking the victim as he exercised just after 5 a.m. March 27 near the Rose Bowl on West Drive, north of Salvia Canyon Road. The man was shoved to the ground and his fanny pack was taken, according to prosecutors.
One of the assailants is accused of using the man’s credit card soon after the robbery, according to prosecutors.
People exercising in the area found the senior citizen on the ground and called 911, according to Pasadena police Lt. Terysa Rojas.
The man, whose name was withheld, suffered head injuries, according to police.
