A man died in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store Friday morning from a possible drug overdose, police said.
The incident at the 7-Eleven at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard Vineland Avenue was reported at 2:06 a.m., said Lt. Doug Humphrey, watch commander at the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Station.
“A 36-year-old man collapsed in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven,” Humphrey said. “He was with a friend at the time and that person called 911 for an ambulance but the man died at the scene.”
Humphrey said there is no indication of foul play and the man may have died from a drug overdose.
“But it’s a coroner case now and they will have to determine the cause of death,” Humphrey said.
The victim’s name was withheld pending family notification.
