The victim — a 20-year-old man — died at the scene of the crash, which happened about 1:20 p.m. in the area of De Soto and Prairie avenues, Officer Jack Richter of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section said.

The man was walking on the tracks when he was struck, Richter said.
