A person was injured Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash on the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, which was closed for a time so a medical helicopter could land.
Paramedics were sent to the freeway at Valley Boulevard about 8:15 a.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.
The injured person was freed by firefighters from the vehicle and airlifted to a hospital, the fire department said. The victim’s condition was not immediately reported.
The freeway lanes were closed for about 15 minutes, beginning about 8:40 a.m., so the helicopter could land and the patient could be placed aboard, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Some lanes remained blocked afterward while crews worked to clear the scene.
