A 19-year-old Hawthorne man was arrested Monday on suspicion of shooting and killing a 21-year-old man in El Segundo.
The victim was found inside his bedroom in his apartment about 2:55 p.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of East Sycamore Avenue, said Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputy Amber Smith.
Chance Kellen Kennedy was arrested by sheriff’s detectives and booked into El Segundo police jail. Bail was set at $1 million, Smith said.
A possible murder weapon was recovered a short distance away from the dead man.
The motive for the crime was not given and the victim’s name was not released.
