Police were searching a Mid-City neighborhood Monday morning for as many as eight burglary suspects who bailed out of a car next to the eastbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway after a short pursuit, a police official said.
The incident started at about 5 a.m. when officers noticed the burglary suspects wearing hoodies in a Mercury Marquis in the 400 block of North Fairfax, said Officer Norma Eisenman of Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations.
The car took off when officers tried to stop the car and a pursuit began at 5:11 a.m., Eisenman said.
The pursuit ended when suspects got off the freeway and bailed on foot at Western Avenue and 24th Street, she said.
The search continued in the area for the suspects, Eisenman said.
