Airport authorities Tuesday were trying to figure out just how an airline passenger shuttle bus collided with a luggage towing vehicle between terminals at Los Angeles International Airport. Six passengers on the bus sustained minor injuries.
All the injured passengers declined hospitalization, Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
The collision with the luggage towing vehicle happened late Monday night, Scott said.
Details were still sketchy about the location and cause of the incident.
Numerous buses transport airline passengers from terminal to terminal on the airfield along taxiways after picking people up and dropping them off at gates designated for such ground operations. Many of the passengers on some buses are required to stand during relatively short inter-terminal rides, clutching posts to retain balance while the vehicles move.
