A 27-year-old man was killed Friday in the unincorporated Westmont area near South Los Angeles, and investigators suspect the shooting was gang-related.
The man died at the scene of the shooting, which was reported about 9:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of West 109th Street, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Deputies responded to a shots fired call and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, Deputy Guillermina Saldana said. His name was not immediately released.
Detectives have no suspect information, Saldana said.
