Two men and two women were detained for questioning Tuesday to determine if they had any involvement in the shooting death of a woman found inside a car in the Glassell Park area, a police sergeant said.

The victim, about 30 years old, was discovered at 2:39 a.m. in a car parked in the driveway of a home in the 3200 block of Isabel Drive, said Sgt. Frank Gonzalez of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Northeast Station.

She had been shot in the upper body.

“They’re (two men and two women) still being interviewed and we’re still trying to figure out what happened,” Gonzalez said late this afternoon. “We’re still trying to see how they were involved in the situation.”

The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of her family.

John Kavanaugh, 80, told ABC7 that the neighborhood where he’s lived most of his life has been plagued by violence.

“I heard nothing overnight, but that’s nothing unusual because almost constantly we have problems in this area, all the time,” he said. “We do not have control of our community here.”
