
An overnight driver’s license/sobriety checkpoint in Lancaster netted 24 arrests, the Sheriff’s Department said Saturday.
One driver was arrested and booked for identity theft and fake identification, and another was arrested for a warrant during a checkpoint at Avenue J and 25th Street East that began at 6 p.m. Friday and ended today at 2 a.m., according to a news statement from the Sheriff’s Department.
Ten unlicensed motorists were arrested and sent to court, and 11 motorists driving on suspended licenses were arrested and sent to court during the checkpoint. Also, nine vehicles were impounded for 30 days during the checkpoint. One motorist was arrested and sent to court for driving a vehicle without an ignition interlock device.
