More than 100 firefighters spent more than 45 minutes Tuesday battling a stubborn non-injury fire at a commercial property in South Los Angeles, authorities said.
The blaze inside a marijuana dispensary abutting Fernando’s Upholstery at 6015 S. Broadway was reported at 3:40 a.m., said fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey. The department dispatched 101 firefighters to battle the flames inside the 4,600-square-foot building, he said.

At one point, firefighters poured water onto the fire, which seemed to be concentrated in the attic, through holes in the roof. No injuries were reported, and firefighters needed 46 minutes to extinguish the flames, Humphrey said.
City fire Battalion Chief Don Frazeur told reporters that the fire was centered in the marijuana dispensary and began with some sort of explosion.
Fernando’s Upholstery repairs auto seat covers, car tops and upholstery. Humphrey said a fire at Fernando’s six months ago required a number of rescues of civilians by firefighters.
The cause of Tuesday’s fire remained under investigation.
