A woman was in grave condition Monday night after jumping from the roof of an eight-story building in the Westlake district, authorities said.
The woman jumped about 8:20 p.m. from a building in the 2400 block of Wilshire Boulevard, between Alvarado Street and Rampart Boulevard, Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
The woman, who jumped as firefighters arrived on scene, was taken to a hospital, Stewart said.
