Authorities Friday identified a couple found dead along with their year-old son in what was being investigated as a possible murder- suicide case in Downey.
The bodies were discovered about 8 p.m. Wednesday by the landlord of an apartment complex in the 7300 block of Neo Street, Downey police Lt. Mark McDaniel said.
The adults were identified as Nicholas Quezada, 29, and Reyna Hernandez, 26, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. The name of the boy was withheld, pending notification of kin.
Autopsies were pending to determine the cause of death of the three people, Winter said.
The landlord entered the apartment due to family concerns at not having heard from the occupants for several days. The deaths are being investigated as a possible murder-suicide, according to broadcast reports, but police did not immediately confirm it.
“Right now, we are looking at all angles,” McDaniel told reporters on Thursday.
There were no reports of a weapon turning up in the apartment.
“The two adults (had) a four-year relationship together,” McDaniel told Fox11. “The young toddler … is a common (law) child between the two. We do have some information that we gathered from the family that there has been numerous threats by the male towards the girlfriend in the past. We’re still looking into it.”
The bodies of the woman and child were found in a bathtub, and the body of the man was found in a bedroom nearby, Fox11 reported
