A motorcycle chase began Sunday in Riverside and ended in Long Beach, where the suspect got off his bike, laid on the freeway and was taken to custody without incident.
When Compton resident Victor Manuel Rendon was arrested, California Highway Patrol officers confiscated a small baggie of methamphetamine and some drug paraphernalia, according to a CHP news statement.
Rendon, 32, on probation for stolen property, as well as three felony and two misdemeanor warrants for his arrest, was booked on suspicion of felony evading, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
At approximately 2:38 a.m., Riverside police officers were in pursuit of a speeding motorcyclist that was going more than 80 miles per hour on the westbound Riverside (91) Freeway in Anaheim, and requested the CHP’s assistance.
CHP units took over the chase, with the motorcyclist now going more than 90 miles per hour, to the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway and then the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway. The chase continued to the southbound Corona (71) Freeway and then to the westbound Artesia (91) Freeway. The CHP continued the pursuit westbound on the 91, where the motorcyclist came to a stop in traffic lanes, over the Long Beach (710) Freeway.
