A man in his mid-30s was booked Tuesday on suspicion of car theft after being arrested in Riverside County with a white Corvette he stole from a Culver City dealership, police said.

The suspect was detained by the California Highway Patrol on Interstate 215 near Perris, NBC4 reported. The CHP used a spike strip to stop the vehicle.

The male suspect made off with the vehicle, which was for sale at Bunnin Chevrolet of Culver City, 6101 Slauson Ave., about 9 p.m. Monday, said Culver City Police Lt. Luis Martinez.

An employee of the dealership was hurt when the thief slammed the door on his hand while stealing the car, according to reports.
