A teenage boy who lost control of his car crashed into a small market in Compton Thursday morning slightly injuring his female passenger, authorities said.
The crash at the intersection of East Compton Boulevard and Essey Avenue took place about 12:20 a.m., said Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Lucio.
“The driver, a juvenile boy, was driving too fast and lost control of his vehicle,” Lucio said. “He crashed into a small mom and pop market and slightly injured his female passenger who was also a juvenile.”
Lucio said the girl was transported to a hospital as a precaution. He also said that neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the crash.
“He was just going too fast,” Lucio said. “He also received a traffic citation from the responding unit.”
