Three men staged a takeover robbery at a Covina bank Thursday morning, and police released surveillance images of the trio in hopes that someone recognizes them.
One of the suspects was armed with a handgun when the three entered the Bank of the West at 770 S. Citrus Ave. about 10:55 a.m. and ordered all customers and employees to the floor, according to Covina police Sgt. Gregg Peterson.
Two of the suspects jumped over the counter and took cash from teller drawers before all three ran from the bank. The amount taken was not disclosed.
The suspects, described as black men in their mid-20s wearing dark clothing and gloves, are believed to have fled the scene in a small white SUV, police said.
Anyone with information that could help investigators identify and locate the bandits was urged to call the Covina police Detective Bureau at (626) 384-5620 or the watch commander at (626) 384-5665.
Anonymous tips can be supplied by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
