Shots were fired Thursday during a Culver City bank robbery that triggered a citywide manhunt for two of the four suspects, police said.
No one was hurt during the heist, which occurred about 9 a.m. at One West Bank, 10784 Jefferson Blvd., the Culver City Police Department reported. It wasn’t clear if the robbers made off with any cash.
A perimeter was set up in the area, and two men were quickly detained as suspects, police said.
One of the captured suspects was found inside a T.J. Maxx store about a half-mile from the bank, according to Culver City Police Lt. William Browne.
A vehicle believed used by the suspects was recovered nearby in a residential area, Brown said.
Two nearby elementary schools — El Marino and El Rincon — were temporarily placed on lockdown as officers searched for the suspects, the lieutenant said.
The suspects who remained at large were described as two black men in their 20s wearing dark clothing.
Investigators believe the shots were fired outside the bank at security guards, Browne said.
