A man who died after being hospitalized for a month was allegedly assaulted by a resident of the Compton group home where he worked, a sheriff’s homicide detective said Tuesday.

Moses Karim, 63, of Compton was brought to a Lynwood hospital on Dec. 21 and died on Jan. 21.

Sgt. Sandra Nava of the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau said Karim worked at a group home in the 1900 block of 137th Street.

A man who lived at the home became involved in an argument with Karim on Dec. 15 and allegedly pushed Karim, who fell and hit his head, she said.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, is expected to face criminal charges stemming from Karim’s death, Nava said.
