A BMW sedan collided with a Blue Line train near downtown Sunday, injuring the vehicle’s driver, but no one on the train was hurt.

The 32-year-old driver was the only person in the car, and was out of the vehicle before firefighters arrived at the scene of the 1:55 p.m. crash.

The accident occurred in the 200 block of West Washington Boulevard, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The car was struck on the driver’s side, Scott said, but there was no word from authorities about the cause of the incident.

The driver was in fair condition when taken to a hospital.
