A Bell Gardens man was charged Wednesday with the murders of two brothers at Ruben Salazar Park in East Los Angeles last November.
Pedro Vasquez, 23, is scheduled to be arraigned April 27 in connection with the Nov. 22, 2015, killings of Antonio Aguilar, 33, and Juan Aguilar, 28, who had once dated the defendant’s sister.
The murder charges include the special circumstance allegation of multiple murders. Prosecutors will decide later whether to seek the death penalty against him.
Vasquez allegedly approached the brothers at the park and opened fire on them, with both suffering multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the shooting.
