Investigators Thursday sought the public’s help in locating a man suspected of fatally shooting his 32-year-old live-in girlfriend during an argument at their home in East Hollywood.

Officers were sent about 6 a.m. on April 12 to the 500 block of North Virgil Avenue to investigate a report of a shooting and found the woman dead from an apparent gunshot wound, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Liliana Preciado said.

She was later identified as Lauren Olguin. Police identified her boyfriend as 39-year-old Philip Policarpio.

“During the argument the suspect punched the victim as he held a gun in his other hand,” according to an LAPD statement. “The suspect then shot the victim and left the location, possibly in a vehicle.”

Policarpio is Filipino, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing around 180 pounds. He has a tattoo on his chest that reads, “Only God Can Judge Me” and is also known to wear glasses.

He drives a red BMW 325i sedan with the license plate 7NBY245.

Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts was urged to call the Rampart Division homicide detectives investigating the case at (213) 484-3642. After-hours and weekend calls should be directed to (877) LAPD-24-7 and anonymous tips can be provided through Crime Stoppers by calling (800) 222- TIPS.
