Fire burned in the classroom of an Inglewood school Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

The fire was reported in the 10700 block of South Tenth Avenue at 2:37 p.m., said Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Randall Wright.

Firefighters arrived at the school at 2:42 p.m. and observed light smoke coming from the classroom, Wright said. They had the fire out within 15 minutes. No one was found inside the classroom and no injuries were reported.

An investigator was dispatched to the scene to determine the cause, he said.

The Albert F. Monroe Middle School is located at 10711 S. Tenth Ave. It is part of the Inglewood Unified School District.
