Suicide or accident? Authorities on Sunday were investigating the death of a person who was struck by a Metro Red Line subway train in the Universal City station.
The crash happened at 8:51 p.m. Friday in the station at 3901 Lankershim Boulevard, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Humphrey said.
The deceased was described as a “patron” by Metro spokesman Ramon Montenegro, but officials did not provide any further details, including the victim’s gender.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives were investigating to determine if the death was a suicide or an accident, Montenegro said.
