A bomb squad was sent to a Jewish temple in La Mirada Wednesday afternoon to investigate a suspicious package, but it turned out to be no threat.
Authorities were dispatched about 1:30 p.m. to Temple Beth Ohr in the 15700 block of Rosecrans Avenue.
The package’s return address aroused suspicions, according to the watch commander at the sheriff’s Norwalk Station, who did not elaborate.
The area was cordoned off and a county fire department hazardous materials crew stood by as the bomb squad blew up the package.
