A Los Angeles man who allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend in front of their young son in her West Covina home, then attacked a family member who tried to intervene, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to six felony counts, including attempted murder.
Eduardo Marin, 46, is charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count each of attempted murder, injuring a child’s parent, first- degree burglary and cruelty to a child by endangering health.
The criminal complaint alleges that Marin used a knife during the commission of the crimes and that he committed great bodily injury under circumstances involving domestic violence.
Marin allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home last Thursday night and stabbed her multiple times in front of their young son. Marin also allegedly injured one of her family members who tried to intervene, then fled the scene of the attack in the 3100 block of Adrienne Drive.
He surrendered to deputies in East Los Angeles late that night.
If convicted as charged, Marin could face up to 15 years to life in state prison, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
