A 12-year-old boy was displaying stable vital signs Wednesday after he was shot in Pomona and flown by helicopter to a hospital for treatment.
A Pomona Police dispatcher received a call regarding the victim being dropped off at Pomona Valley Hospital with a gunshot wound at 8:03 p.m., according to Lt. Alex Rilloraza.
Officers met with the victim at the hospital who told them he was in an alley in the 800 block of East La Verne Avenue when he heard a gunshot and was struck by a bullet, Rilloraza said. The victim was then taken to the hospital by a family member.
The victim is hospitalized in stable condition, Rilloraza said.
