A passenger in an SUV shot and killed a man in Baldwin Park, the Sheriff’s Department said Sunday.

It happened at 7:05 p.m. Saturday in the 14100 block of Clark Street, Los Angeles County Sheriff‘s Deputy Lisa Jansen said.

Two men were walking eastbound on Clark Street when a large white SUV pulled up from behind them and one of the occupants pulled out a gun, opened fire and struck one of the men in the torso, according to Deputy Kimberly Alexander of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man was not injured. The suspects’ vehicle was last seen heading eastbound on Clark Street. There was no suspect description, Alexander said.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives were assisting Baldwin Park police with the investigation.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives asked anyone with any information regarding the shooting death to call them at (323) 890-5500.
