Police Sunday asked the public for help in finding the hit-and-killers of a 55-year-old Long Beach man.
The victim died from injuries suffered while crossing a street and being hit by a four-door white or beige Nissan Sentra or Honda with two men inside.
The hit-and-run crash occurred Nov. 5 at Cherry Avenue and 55th Street, and the victim died Thursday after being hospitalized.
Officers found the man lying in the street with good Samaritans trying to help him, police said.
The preliminary investigation revealed a beige, smaller four-door vehicle was traveling north on Cherry Avenue when it struck the man in a crosswalk, police said.
Witnesses told investigators there were two men in the car and the driver’s side windshield should have extensive damage from the crash, police said. They said the car slowed or stopped briefly before fleeing north on Cherry Avenue.
The car was described as possibly a four-door white or beige Nissan Sentra or Honda, police said.
Anyone with information about the crash was asked to call Long Beach Police Detective Steve Fox at (562) 570-7355.
