Detectives Wednesday were trying to identify and nab a man who tried to drag off a woman in her 50s who was jogging in a Duarte park.
The victim was on her usual morning jog about 7:30 a.m. Sunday on a running trail in the area of Royal Oaks Drive and Oak Avenue when she was attacked by a man who tried to drag her away, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
“The female was able to fight off the suspect, who ran from the location,” according to a department statement.
The woman was roughed up but did not require hospital transport.
The suspect — described as 5-feet-6 inches tall, 160 pounds and wearing all black clothing — was last seen driving from the area in a four-door, tan- colored car. His age and ethnicity were not available.
