An apparently intoxicated man was struck and killed Thursday by a hit-and-run vehicle after he fell into the street during a closing-time struggle with a North Hollywood bar bouncer, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, police said.

The dark-colored sedan that struck the man did not stop at the scene of the 1:45 a.m. crash in the 6300 block of Lankershim Boulevard, Los Angeles police Officer Jenny Houser said.

The vehicle had dark-tinted windows, but a further description was not immediately available, the officer said.

The bouncer, 34-year-old Ernest Reyes, was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked at at the Valley Jail in Van Nuys, where he was being held in lieu of $2 million bail, according to sheriff’s inmate records.

The victim’s name, age and city of residence were not immediately available.
