A woman hiker with a possible broken ankle was plucked to safety by a helicopter rescue team from a cliff in the hills of Rubio Canyon north of Altadena, authorities said.
The Altadena Mountain Rescue Team was called after the 25-year-old woman tripped while hiking and injured her left leg, sheriff’s officials said.
Rescue teams from the Pasadena Fire Department, Altadena and Sierra Madre hiked into the canyon in the Angeles National Forest but a sheriff’s helicopter actually located the hiker, officials said.
The helicopter hoisted her to safety after 9 a.m. Saturday, officials said. Her condition Sunday was not made available.
