She’s eight months pregnant, but a robbery victim in Santa Clarita didn’t hesitate to run after an escaping man who grabbed her cash at a convenience store.
The would-be robber, who dropped most of the money in his escape, managed to get away, so sheriff’s investigators Thursday asked for the public’s help in identifying him.
The robbery occurred Friday in the 18200 block of Soledad Canyon Road in the Canyon Country area of Santa Clarita, according to the sheriff’s department.
The 23-year-old woman, who was eight months pregnant, had placed cash on the counter while attempting to purchase a money order when the suspect shoved her aside and grabbed the loot, said Shirley Miller, public information officer with the sheriff’s Santa Clarita Valley Station.
The suspect dropped most of the money as he fled, with the woman running after him, Miller said.
He got into a waiting vehicle, a white Ford Fusion with tinted windows and a moon roof, that was last seen heading north on Solamint Canyon Road, Miller said.
Anyone with information about the suspect or the crime was urged to call the Santa Clarita Valley Station at (661) 255-1121.
Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling (800) 222-TIPS.
