Detectives Wednesday circulated a photo of a man accused of sexually assaulting two women in Norwalk in 2015 and said they believe there may be additional victims.
Ronald Douglas, 33, was arrested on March 5 and booked on suspicion of sexual assault, the sheriff’s department reported.
On March 7, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office filed 10 felony sexual assault-related counts against Douglas, who’s being held on $2 million bail, according to the sheriff’s department. He is tentatively scheduled to appear in court on Friday in Norwalk.
“DNA evidence revealed that … Douglas was linked to a 2015 case where he is suspected of sexually assaulting a 37-year old female,” according to a sheriff’s statement.
Douglas is also suspected in the sexual assault of a 40-year-old woman.
“Both cases occurred in the city of Norwalk,” the statement said. “(The suspect) offered to walk the victims home or give them a ride. Shortly thereafter, at a secondary location … Douglas proceeded to sexually assault the victims.”
Detectives urged anyone with any information on the case to call the sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau at (877) 710-5273, or contact the bureau by email at specialvictimsbureau@lasd.org.
