
A driver was killed in a suspected high-speed DUI crash in North Hollywood early Wednesday.
The two-vehicle collision was reported at 12:07 a.m. near the intersection of Vanowen Street and Laurel Canyon Boulevard, according to Officer Irma Mota of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.
The suspected drunken driver was traveling west on Vanowen at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle and went into eastbound traffic, colliding with another vehicle, Mota said.
The driver of the other vehicle died at the hospital, Mota said. The victim’s age and gender were not immediately reported.
The suspected drunken driver was taken to a hospital for minor injuries but was in police custody, she said.
