A man who was employed as a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy when he was arrested for soliciting a prostitute was sentenced Tuesday to 30 days in jail.
Raymond Edward Bernasconi, 56, pleaded no contest April 10 to one misdemeanor count of soliciting a prostitute, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Bernasconi made arrangements online to meet a prostitute at a Claremont motel last Oct. 12, prosecutors said.
Bernasconi — who was off-duty at the time — was arrested by law enforcement officers participating in a multi-agency human trafficking sting after he went to the motel, prosecutors said.
His status with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was not immediately available.
