Four unsuspecting pedestrians in a Sunset Strip crosswalk were injured when a van was pushed into them after it was involved in a collision.

A passenger in the van also sustained injuries and all five were taken to hospitals. However, none of the injuries was considered serious.

The crash happened at the intersection of Sunset and La Cienega boulevards in West Hollywood, sheriff’s Sgt. Gabriel Akchyan said.

“A vehicle was westbound on Sunset Boulevard and hit an eastbound vehicle,” Akchyan said after the 6:25 p.m. Sunday accident. “The eastbound vehicle, a van, attempted to make a left turn onto La Cienega.”

The westbound vehicle struck the van as it made the left turn, he said. The van was pushed into the southeast crosswalk where it struck four pedestrians.

The pedestrians and the van’s passenger were taken to hospitals with “very minor injuries,” Akchyan said.

There were no arrests and alcohol was not believed to be a factor, he said. “It was just an accident.”
