A fire that damaged a two-story North Hollywood apartment building left 31 residents homeless Saturday morning, but no one was hurt.

The blaze was reported in one of the units at 11420 W. Oxnard St. at 2:04 a.m., according to Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire, which started in one of the units and expanded to the building’s roof and common attic, was extinguished in 34 minutes by 66 firefighters, Bastman said.

The American Red Cross was on scene assisting the displaced and arson investigators were determining the cause of the fire, Bastman said.
