Authorities Monday identified a victim who was gunned down at a South Gate motel, and detectives sought a mysterious “woman of interest” in the murder.
The shooting occurred about 7 p.m. Saturday at the Oak Tree Inn at 9010 Long Beach Boulevard, said Deputy Kelvin Moody of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Samuel Jimenez, 27, died at the scene, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. His home town was not known.
Detectives were looking for a woman, described as “a person of interest,” who was believed to have been with Jimenez at the motel.
No other details or description of the woman was provided.
